Excluding Numbers From Contact Lists

The DATA MANAGEMENT application provides functionality to allow you to maintain a list of numbers that are not to be dialled as part of an outbound campaign, and to use this as a filter to exclude them when setting up contact lists.

These numbers are stored in a Do Not Call (DNC) table which is created manually by you in DATA MANAGEMENT and populated in the usual way. The table used for this purpose can be given any name; in this section the name used for this table is DNC.

In addition, the DATA MANAGEMENT application provides a mechanism to allow you to add numbers to the DNC table automatically, using completion codes entered by agents while a campaign is running. Your organisation must have set up one or more completion codes specifically for this purpose (see the UC and CONTACT Configuration Guide for instructions) and then configured them against the telephone number fields within the tables used to create contact lists.

As each number is called during a campaign, the agent assigns it a completion code, which is used to update the relevant record in the underlying table. If the completion code is one set up to indicate a number that is not to be called again, that number is added to the DNC table.

You can choose to add numbers to a table other than the DNC table, if for example you want to accrue numbers for a specific campaign. These can then be imported into the DNC table later, if appropriate.

The mechanism allows you to set up this configuration separately on every field used to hold a telephone number.

In the DATA MANAGEMENT application's main window, click the Settings Picture 138 button, then select the Triggered Actions menu option.

In the screen that is displayed, click the Add Triggered Action button.

Enter a name for the number/completion code configuration into the Triggered Action name field, then enter the name of the completion code into the Completion Code field.

Note: the completion code entered here must be identical to the completion code created in the completion code form.

Use the Source Table and Source Column fields respectively to select the table, and then the telephone number field within it that will provide the number to be added to the DNC table.

Note: for a triggered action to work, the code entered into the Completion Code field must be identical to the code entered in the associated completion code form, including capitalisation and spaces. Completion code forms are configured in storm Contact > Contact > Organisations > Completion Code Forms.

If the table allows for multiple telephone number fields, the [Dialler Number Column] option is present. This allows you to specify that the value of the number dialled is to be used to populate the DNC table, regardless of which field provided it.

Use the Destination Table and Destination Column fields respectively to select the table, and then the field, to which the number will be added.

Note: a completion code can be used only once against a table. It can be configured against an individual field, or against all fields using the [Dialler Number Column] option, but cannot be configured against more than one field separately.‎
